My texts fit together because they all incorporate an argument on the hip hop community and its effects on society. Each argument provides different looks at the negative and positive aspects of hip hop. They all seem to come together to answer the main question of whether or not hip hop plays a negative role on our society. Each article can find elements of how the images portrayed in music are often seen taking place in real life. Which brings up the argument that exist inside the argument. Is hip hop being emulated or is it just a report of the real life events that occur everyday in our society. The arguments are filled with hip hop bashing and numerous senarios on how it brings down our society and it degrades women. One text speaks of how hip hop has become appaling to people even considered to be apart of its culture. One text tries to gain credibility in such a way by mentioning of the skin color of one of the hip hop critics. One of the texts gives rappers a chance to speak in their own defense which serves as one of the most valid arguments present because it allows the artist to have a voice and to not take all of the responsibility for themselves but to also spread some of it around the rest of society where society where it needs to be.The txts
The unstated asumptions that allow these arguments to co exist is the thought that all of the issues didnt exist prior to the graphic images presented in hip hop music. The assumption that artist speaking in such violent ways has raged the violence in our inner cities. The thoughts that rappers are not speaking on what goes on, but are fueling the violence and crime. Which all boils back down to the way society looks at things. Can people be blamed for the demise of a community. Is the violenced being fueled by rap music or being brought to the light. The assumption that this violence and crime has not been a problem untill rappers started rapping on such things is almost crazy. People cant speak on a problem that does not exist therefore society might have to turn the mirror around and see that while hip hop makes the problems more culturally acceptable it is not the origin of the problems it just dwells in them
These texts say that arguments in america are at times justifiable but are often presented in a finger pointing manner. Arguments in america look at passing blame as means of arguing. People in america dont like accepting responsibilites for problems, but once it becomes a mainstream epidemic then we like to find someone to blame for the situation. America contains some good arguments but many of the arguments that can be found are ones that are more interested in being one sided than makin valid arguments.
